Welcome to my first post! Hopefully this blog will be helpful or at the very least encouraging to those searching for their own personal style as it can be a daunting journey. I thought that now would be a fantastic time to talk about fashion and it’s importance as an introduction given that it will be the subject of my postings.

It’s worth noting that while I intend to share tutorials, tips, and other fashion-related content, I do so without expectation. My goal is to share information that you can either choose to use or not. You may not agree with everything I write or find it relevant to your own circumstance but even if there’s just one post I write that’s useful for you, I consider that a win.

It’s my intention to give respectful suggestion and inspiration for your consideration, not stand on the pulpit of style and tell you how to dress yourself. That’s entirely up to you! We’re constantly changing and evolving—our sense of style is no different. Let’s learn new things together and look good doing it.

Style is the spice of life

Fashion is expression above all else. It is the art that we can canvas ourselves in. Every morning, we wake up and decide what to paint on. What we wear and choose to adorn our figure in says a lot about who we are as individuals and while trends come and go, having your own sense of personal taste and signature style are such valuable parts of our identity often overlooked as simple vanity when it’s so much more.

Despite what anyone will say, there is truly no sin in fashion so long as you’re true to yourself. Sure, others might voice their opinions or those shoes might not exactly go with your handbag but if it’s truly a reflection of your essence, go for it—and I do mean that! Dopamine dressing is a thing, after all. Don’t worry, we’ll talk about it later.

If we were all meant to look identical, we would, and what we wear is no different. Our singularity is apart of our freedom. We are not simply a number within the masses to be easily forgotten because our own identity is nonexistent; we have names and stories and lives. We have asseveration.

Besides, if we were all the same—including how we dressed—the world would be dreadfully boring and who really wants to be boring, anyway? If I ever get boring, drown me in chiffon and put me out of my misery.

Fashion to move forward

We, as humans, are all inherently unique and we should dress like it. Embracing who we are in every way possible is essential to feeling confident in ourselves and learning our true nature. You should be excited to open your closet because each piece dangling from a hanger is another part of you waiting to be worn and shared with the broader world.

There’s a thousand different aesthetics, looks, and trends but there’s only one of you. You’re the only one who will ever be able to wear an outfit your way and once this concept is grasped through the simple act of dressing, you’ll soon realize what a powerful foundation your image can be in the rest of your life. When you look great, you feel great.

We should look as we want to be seen and this is especially true if we’re too shy to be heard. If you want to be a boss, dress as if you already are one and the rest of the office will take notice. If you love the color lilac, get creative about all the different ways you can incorporate it into your outfit daily with accessories. Challenge yourself. Have fun. Surround yourself with things you think are beautiful. Always remember that you’re dressing for yourself and no one else. Your toughest critic will always be in the mirror.

Like trends, fashion moves us forward towards the future and there’s always something new on the horizon to keep us looking ahead. I can’t wait to discuss it all with you!
